Connectivity for Siemens Industrial Edge
Softing‘s Industrial Edge products offer connectivity at the interface between OT and IT in industrial applications. The products can be easily integrated and operated in IIoT solutions based on the Siemens Industrial Edge platform.
This is made possible by an integration of Softing’s connectivity products into the infrastructure and management environment of the Siemens Industrial Edge platform. The connectivity products can managed and operated just like all other software module for Siemens Industrial Edge.
Softing products for Siemens Industrial Edge are commercially available via the Siemens Industrial Edge marketplace.

The benefits to users are:
- Connectivity as part of Siemens Industrial Edge can be managed efficiently and centrally via the Siemens Industrial Edge platform.
- Users can configure machine connectivity via the Siemens Industrial Information Hub (IIH).
- Machine connectivity is made available on Siemens Industrial Edge standard hardware. In many cases, there is no need to deploy specialized hardware for machine connectivity.
- Softing has many years of experience with industrial applications, which contributes to the development of connectivity products for Siemens Industrial Edge.
Softing connectivity products are suitable for all sorts of IoT applications requiring access to machine data, whether running on-prem or in the cloud. Communication with PLCs, acquiring all available process- and machine data, is based on the Ethernet protocol. IoT applications use the OPC UA server or the MQTT broker integated into Siemens Industrial Edge in order to access the data.
