eATM tManager® IPC

Connect ControlLogix, CompactLogix, Siemens, or Modbus TCP PLCs to analytics and dashboards in about 10 minutes

  • Collect information from islands of PLCs and connect natively upstream to SQL databases and cloud for analytics, dashboards, and process optimization
  • Download Recipes from Databases to PLCs
  • No code, no protocol translation solution connects PLCs (OT) directly to IT business apps for analytics, dashboards, and for digital transformation

tManager

eATM tManagar IPC enables direct bi-directional data exchange between enterprise systems like Microsoft SQL databases and PLCs. tManager is a built for purpose, industrial PC (IPC).  tManager eliminates software coding used in the past to orchestrate transactions between the PLC and SQL database. Using tManager to handle transactions instead of VB scripting or FactoryTalk Transaction Manager has the advantage of eliminating costly time required for custom coding and dangers of custom coding.  tManager increases transaction speed and robustness of solution, and decreases project risk and ongoing maintenance costs.

tManager enables downloading recipes and manufacturing instructions into the controller or uploading production tags for track and trace, quality monitoring, high speed sorting, and key performance indicator monitoring in your enterprise database. Bi-direction connectivity between PLC and database is possible because tManager understands the connection requirements and provides this to you in simple to understand menus where you just simply map the connections and triggers.  Microsoft SQL and ORACLE databases are commonly used between MES applications and the production line.

Increasingly, manufacturing facilities are looking to connect PLCs directly to cloud applications such as AWS, Azure, Google, or IBM.  Connection from plant floor to cloud can be done via an MQTT connection.

Microsoft SQL, MySQL, Oracle, and PostgreSQL databases are all supported.

Drivers are available to connect tManager to ControlLogix, CompactLogix, Siemens, or Modbus TCP PLCs.

tManager is part of the Rockwell Automation Encompass Product Partner program. As part of the Encompass Program, Softing designs ControlLogix and CompactLogix in-chassis modules directly accessing backplane data and control tags. Overview

Easy and Fast PLC Connectivity for Production Monitoring and Analytics

  • No OPC protocol translation.  tManager understands MSSQL, MySQL, ORACLE, PostgreSQL databases and makes direct database calls.
  • No software coding or scripting is required for connecting Logix PLCs, Siemens S7 PLCs, or Modbus TCP PLCs to databases.  All database commands are handled via drop down menu options.
  • No tag limit.  Automatic enumeration of Logix PLC and database tags and structures.

Easy to Operate and Maintain

  • Easily set-up and monitor your operation through extensive online help and unlimited installations of the configuration software
  • Data transfer and transactions are handled by tManager

Built-for-Purpose Industrial Solution

  • Industrial OT to IT applicance
  • It is only possible to edit configuration through the configuration software with assignable user privileges
  • IT approved: All SQL commands configured through menu selection.  SQL code is view-only and not accessible.  There is no access to edit or create malicious SQL commands.

Robust Data Handling

  • No need to modify PLC logic for monitoring key performance indicators
  • Maximized data availability through use of store and forward (local buffering)
  • Configure a failover database server in case you lose access to main database
  • Time-stamped data and saving of all transactions for audit
  • E-mail notifications for following transactions and system operation
