smartLink SW-HT is a software solution that functions as a HART multiplexer and enables easy access to configuration and diagnostic data from HART field devices without additional hardware. As more and more new Remote Input/Output Systems (Remote I/Os) use Ethernet instead of PROFIBUS to connect to the controller, smartLink SW-HT provides an Ethernet connection to transmit HART commands to the Remote IOs.

smartLink SW-HT is the only solution on the market that enables the use of Remote I/Os from various manufacturers such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Turck and R. Stahl as well as the FDT DTM interface. Up to now, the Siemens ET 200iSP system was supported. The new version 1.41 of smartLink SW-HT now also supports safety modules of the Siemens ET 200 Remote I/Os. In addition, the old R. Stahl IS1+ 9441 system can now also be used with smartLink SW-HT.

Configuration and diagnostic data are accessed via Emerson's AMS Device Manager or other HART IP-enabled Plant Asset Management applications. smartLink SW-HT provides an Ethernet connection for tunneling the HART commands to the remote IOs. At the field level, smartLink SW-HT can be integrated easily and without risks. This integration can even be carried out during ongoing operations. No additional hardware is required in the process. The application thus makes it easier for users to implement open, standards-based, and scalable system architectures. It also enables connectivity to be integrated into edge solutions managed by IT.
