Situation
Background
NAONWORKS provides security solutions for customers’ safe network operations.
Solutions aim to use various technologies in open systems for convergence industries.
Focus is on industrial protocols, big data, deep packet inspection and technologies for behavior and status analysis.
Business need
A power plant faced critical need for a reliable gateway to facilitate data acquisition between a real-time database (RTDB) and nine different distributed control systems (DCS).
The typical client applications in which machine data is used include asset management systems, monitoring dashboards and monitoring systems.
Existing gateway did not have Common Criteria (CC) certificate, a crucial element for safeguarding critical infrastructures.
Technical Requirements
The nine DCSs were from Siemens, ABB and GE.
The selected CEREBRO-DD gateway from NAONWORKS had to connect all nine systems.
The gateway had to support OPC UA and OPC DA for communication with clients.
Data communication had to be stable and robust.
Solution
NAONWORKS used Softing's OPC UA SDKs to develop the new CEREBRO-DD gateway.
The new gateway supports various industrial protocols such as OPC UA, OPC DA, ODBC, MQTT, Modbus RTU/TCP, Siemens S7, Mitsubishi, LS Electric, RTSP, etc.
Individualized access control and configuration rights, user authentication and data encryption are ensured.
Physical separation between office and production networks is seamlessly integrated.
