Background
- 3rd phase of an oil field development. FPSO will be linked with 15 wells, including eight oil producers and seven water and gas injectors. Production is expected to start in 2024.
- Customer decided to use Emerson AMS Device Manager as asset management solution for the new FPSO vessel
- Customer tried Spectrum SCX 3000 software, not satisfied with performance
Technical Requirements
- About 400 HART devices need to be connected in first project
- HART field devices connected to ControlLogix (1756)
- Majority communicating upstream via EtherNet /IP
- In exceptional cases, due to safety reasons, ControlNet pass through to 1756 IF16H HART module
- Deployment of smartLink SW-HT to connect 400 HART devices. smartLink software is installed on same PC with Emerson AMS, outside ex zones
- Communication with AMS Device Manager via HART-IP
- Customer satisfied with ease of use and simple installation
- Customer satisfied with use of standard technology and interfaces
- Customer satisfied with smartLink performance
