Softing Industrial Automation GmbH is reorganizing its management team: Johann Gschwendtner has been appointed Managing Director and will lead the company together with Thomas Rummel. He succeeds Thomas Hilz, who will leave Softing Industrial at his own request effective June 30, 2026.
In his new role, Johann Gschwendtner will be responsible for Sales and Marketing and will also serve as spokesperson of the management. Thomas Rummel will continue to oversee Development and Product Management as well as Softing’s development site in Cluj, Romania. The existing division of responsibilities within the management team will thus be consistently maintained.
Thomas Hilz Shaped the Company’s Development for 14 Years
During his 14 years with the company, Thomas Hilz has significantly shaped the development of Softing Industrial and set the strategic course for its current market position.

Experienced Executive with International Background
Johann Gschwendtner has many years of experience in executive and C-level positions. Most recently, he served as General Manager, overseeing key business units and major strategic initiatives. In previous roles, he successfully developed companies and drove sustainable growth.
With more than three decades of experience in the IT and telecommunications industry, he has extensive expertise in collaborating with international customers and in advancing technology-driven business models.
