One Software for All Diagnostic Products

The PROFIBUS Diagnostics Suite supports the PROFIBUS Testers 3 and 4, the Protocol Analyzers for DP and PA and, optionally, the PROFIBUS Inspektor. The available diagnostic functionality depends on the connected test tool. The software is license-free and does not require activation, allowing the analysis of test data on any number of PCs.

Also Suitable for the Fieldbus Novice

All it takes is one mouse click to start a bus test. The test results are presented in a clear and easy-to-read overview. The PC software also provides complex functions that only experts need and that are thus accessed separately from the standard functionality. This renders the software ideal for both less experienced users and fieldbus specialists.

Intuitive Use and Clear Readings

On program startup, users select a connected test tool and the desired functionality. The status bar then continually shows the current bus state. After a Quick Test or User-Controlled Test, the Network Status view displays the overall diagnostic result with separate traffic light symbols for bus physics and bus communication. The Protocol and Signal Quality detail views provide further information for additional analyses. In the Topology Scan detail view, the sequence and distances of all passive bus devices are determined. When using the integrated master simulator for bus and device tests without a PLC, only the baud rate needs to be specified – no configuration or parameterization is required. A detailed test report can be generated based on the Network Status results.
The Trend Test function allows detecting sporadic faults over a prolonged period of time. In the Oscilloscope and Frame views, experts can perform in-depth, detailed analyses. The integrated Project Explorer offers an easy and efficient way to manage test results, GSD files, etc.

D-Sub Service Interface

Application

The service interface is top hat rail mounted. An external 24 VDC power source is required for power supply to the terminating resistor in the PROFIBUS connector included in the package. The service interface can thus be used as an active bus termination at the beginning or end of the bus. If the PLC allows dropping and adding bus stations on the live bus, the service interface offers the possibility to exchange the first and last bus stations without causing problems on the bus. M12 Service Interface

Application

The service interface is inserted between two bus stations. When not in use, the service output of the T piece is closed with an end cap. At baud rates of 1.5 Mbit/s or higher, use the supplied cable to ensure that the required minimum distance between bus stations is maintained. Application example:
