Overview
Modbus is a serial communication protocol and was introduced by Modicon (today part of Schneider Electric) in 1979.
Today, Modbus belongs to Schneider electric and is part of many international specifications and de-facto standards. For more information click here.
The mission of the Modbus Organization is to further develop the Modbus and drive its adoption throughout the market segments.
Softing is a member of the Modbus Organization.
There are different Modbus versions, including Modbus RTU and Modbus TCP.
Modbus specifications are available for free. An integration of Modbus TCP for CIP is available. -
